Who we are

We’re a small, specialized team focused on helping organizations make better decisions in complex environments.

Our work sits at the intersection of scientific research, data analysis, and strategy. We bring experience working across disciplines and translating technical work into something people can actually use.

We started this work because too often, rigorous analysis doesn’t translate into action. Reports get written, models get built, but decision-makers are left without clear guidance. We focus on making sure the work leads somewhere.

How we work

We don’t treat analysis as a standalone deliverable. We work across the full lifecycle, from shaping the question to translating results into decisions.

That includes:

  • framing ambiguous or poorly scoped questions

  • synthesizing findings across multiple technical sources

  • assessing competing considerations under uncertainty

  • translating complex results into clear, decision-ready recommendations

Our approach is grounded in analytical rigor, but focused on how the work is actually used. We make assumptions explicit, highlight uncertainty where it matters, and ensure the final output reflects the real-world context in which decisions are made.

The goal isn’t just to be technically correct. It’s to be useful when it counts.

Jessica studies how people learn and how to make that science usable in practice.

Dr. Jessica Wise Younger

Jessica is an educational neuroscientist focused on how people learn and how to translate that science into real-world impact. She holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders and has over a decade of experience studying reading development, cognitive processes, and learning differences, including dyslexia.

Her work spans academic research and applied product environments. At organizations like PBS KIDS, Digital Promise, and UCSF’s Neuroscape, she has led large-scale research efforts to evaluate learning outcomes and inform the design and direction of educational tools used by millions of children. She has built digital research platforms, developed learning metrics, and applied advanced statistical methods to study how children learn in real-world settings.

She has worked closely with product teams and engineers to ensure product roadmaps and strategy are informed by data, using real-world user behavior to prioritize features, guide resource allocation, and shape decisions about where to focus development and investment.

Jessica synthesizes complex research and translates it into insight that can be used in practice. She brings deep expertise in experimental design and evidence evaluation, along with a practical understanding of how to navigate the tension between scientific rigor and real-world constraints, where human behavior and messy environments ultimately shape what works.

Andrew works on making complex biotechnology systems scalable, reliable, and decision-ready.

Dr. Andrew KD Younger

Andrew is a technical leader in biotechnology and biomanufacturing, with deep expertise in synthetic biology, space biology, and scaling complex biological systems. He holds a PhD in Synthetic Biology and Protein Engineering and has worked across industry, federal R&D, and advanced manufacturing environments.

His experience spans the full lifecycle of biotechnology development, from engineering biological systems at the molecular level to scaling them into automated, production-ready manufacturing workflows. At organizations like Zymergen, he has led process engineering efforts to translate synthetic biology into high-throughput biomanufacturing systems, integrating automation, data infrastructure, and process optimization to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost.

Andrew has supported high-stakes federal R&D programs, including senior technical advisory roles for DoW initiatives exceeding $250M. His work has involved technical assessment, program design, and evaluation across areas such as synthetic biology, advanced materials, and space biotechnology, helping shape investment decisions, assess technical risk, and guide emerging technology portfolios.

Andrew brings a systems-level perspective to biotechnology, bridging deep technical detail with strategic decision-making. He focuses on evaluating complex technologies under uncertainty and translating cutting-edge science into clear, actionable direction.
